My sweet, sweet Marmalakes. Ever since their epic Newdust house show, these dudes have been rockin’ it solid in ATX, playing more shows then my fingers can count. Check out this fantastic acoustic performance of “Septimus Warren Smith” in this (equally fantastic) Red Swing Project video. Come help them celebrate their new EP In Arnica, at their release show @ the Austin Sottish Rite Theater May 5th.

The vibe at 619 Pearl St. on July 25th could not have been more laid back or chill (as was perfectly stated on Josh’s t-shirt). We all hung out in the backyard sipping on our ice cold beers and munching on hot dogs until a heavy downpour brought us indoors. And then there was music. Our friends Marmalakes & Mont Lyons both put on fantastic shows! Shout out to all those who came to hang out with us to mark our first year in the blogosphere! Cheers!

PS: If anyone has more video or pictures of the event let me know and I will post it.

Marmalakes Wonder Winds EP

I’m really diggin’ this EP. Wonder Winds is Marmalakes first release and it’s jam packed with lively & catchy folk-pop tunes. From track 1 to the last, the EP grabs your attention and keeps it warm and snug throughout its short and sweet 23 minute run time.
