Ambulance LTD – LP
![]() ![]() |
Ambulance LTD is responsible for one of my favorite albums of the last 5 years: 2004’s LP, a solid pop album with twangy guitar lines, catchy melodies, & countless hooks. |
| LP and I have been through a lot together over the last 7 years, there’s a lot of nostalgia connected to this album for me. This is one of the first albums I remember listening to behind the wheel; it got me through my first break up and pretty much all my other awkward teenage moments. What I love about this album is Marcus Congleton’s whispery, Elliot Smith-esque voice coupled with spaghetti-western worthy guitar lines & simple yet well played drums & bass. They don’t really stick to one particular sound, though, as you’ll hear from my two favorites off the album, “Ophelia,” & an early version of “Sugar Pill”; each song is warm, slightly dark, & extremely catchy from start to finish. |
