I went to the Atlas Sound show last night at the Black Cat here in DC. The sound was great, the beer was flowing, and both The Selmanaires and Broadcast put on stellar live show. Although, Broadcast was not my thing, they had an interesting set with some pretty powerful and mesmerizing visuals backing them up. Bradford Cox and company (Atlas Sound) played laid back reverb drenched versions of tracks off Let the Blind… and Logos. The summer single/leak “Walkabout” feat Panda Bear, was probably my favorite of the evening. I spent most of the show trying very hard not to break the hipster code and sing along. I put a track from Atlas Sound’s new album Logos as well as a a fantastic cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Walk a Thin Line” from 1979’s Tusk. Great tour, great bands, check it out. |
