Black Coffee & Cherry Pie’s “Odd Vantage” LP + Steffaloo’s “Meet Me In Montauk”

Black Coffee & Cherry Pies Odd Vantage LP + Steffaloos Meet Me In Montauk

Steffaloo has been constantly churning out infectious little tunes of her own flavor of acoustic folk pop for nearly three years now, while Black Coffee & Cherry Pie has been crafting his unique, highly contagious guitar-driven downtempo for nearly just as long. What I’ve enjoy most out of these two is their soft & sensual folk dreampop duet “Fallen,” which appears on BC & CC’s latest LP Odd Vantage.

Mutual Spirits split 12″

Mutual Spirits split 12

Mutual Spirits is a damn fine split 12″ by Mutual Benefit & Holy Spirits released on Father/Daughter Records. Limited to 250 pressings on gorgeous white & gold swirl vinyl, the two bands compliment each other incredibly well. My new favorite of 2011? Indeed. Grab a copy here and check out both bands along with Lands and Peoples and Moon at Glasslands in Brooklyn, NY on Wednesday, June 8th.

B. Rossi And Jake Troth – “Gems & Rubies”

B. Rossi And Jake Troth Gems & Rubies

Back in March we posted up a video for Jake Troth‘s extremely catchy new tune “Material Things.” Now he’s teamed up with hip-hop artist B. Rossi to write “Gems And Rubies.” It’s a song about the inevitable question that most dreamers face during their journey to success— “should I be doing this?”

Erot Vs. Kings of Convenience – “Gold For The Price Of Silver”

Erot Vs. Kings of Convenience Gold For The Price Of Silver

Everything Erlend Øye and Eirik Glambek Bøe (Kings Of Convenience) touches is pure gold. If you haven’t checked out their latest, Declaration of Dependence, it’s a real treat. If you have, then you know what I’m talking about. Here’s a great collaboration between the boys and the now deceased dub-house artist Erot (r.i.p. 1978-2001), titled “Gold For The Price Of Silver,” that hasn’t made its way out here in the blogosphere yet. This is actually one of my favorites by Øye & Bøe!
