One Wolf is Daniel Markham’s latest endeavor after leaving Lubbock, Texas’ Waiting To Derail. What I like about One Wolf is their mellowed-out 90s alt-rock sound. With influences ranging from Tears for Fears and New Order to Hank Williams and Whiskeytown, their sophomore release Secret of the Wolf combines the best of both genres. If you live here in the lone star state, you can catch One Wolf in El Paso on 4/13 at The Percolator w/ Deer Tick.

The Adventures of Pete & Pete is a television show that brings back a lot of fond childhood memories for a good majority of the Newdust community. So I thought I’d pay a little tribute to the band that was responsible for the music behind all three seasons, the great Polaris. This is the only music that this band has ever produced, and after the show was over they had enough songs from the series to release their one and only CD, appropriately titled Music From The Adventures of Pete & Pete. The top left video is the opening credits to the show, the song titled “Hey Sandy“, and the top right video is a clip from the episode “Hard Day’s Pete”, the song titled “Summerbaby“. Oh what good times those were. The only thing missing from this jog down memory lane is some green slime.

Cymbals Eat Guitars are an unsigned indie band from Staten Island, New York. I can’t exactly remember how I stumbled across these guys but they remind me of an early Modest Mouse. Here is “And The Hazy Sea” off their first album titled “Why There Are Mountains.”
