Titus Andronicus – “No Future Part Three: Escape From No Future” (Video)

Yo! Check out this totally pro New Jersey video (propaganda? jokes!) from rockers Titus Andronicus. You must see this band live! They bring a genuine energy that is rare in modern rock bands. You can read my review of their DC show here and check out tour dates here. Enjoy!

Architecture In Helsinki – “Heart It Races” + cover by Dr. Dog

If you’ve heard either of these bands before, you probably would’ve never seen this cover coming. Australia-based Architecture In Helsinki’s catchy & unique, upbeat electronic music is quite different from Dr. Dog’s Americana-washed, folk-rock goodness. But that’s what makes this cover so great. AIH’s “Heart It Races,” track 2 on 2007’s Places Like These, has this tropical/tribal sound to it, the only song like it on the album. Dr. Dog throws in their twangy guitars & keys to give the song a much more organic, jam-like feel. Both versions are excellent, hope you enjoy them!

First Listen: Wilco (The Album)

First Listen: Wilco (The Album)
NPR is streaming Wilco’s new album Wilco (The Album), which will release on Nonesuch records June 30th.
First Listen: Wilco (The Album)
Wilco (The Album) seems to follow the same formula as their highly acclaimed 2007 release, Sky Blue Sky. If you’re a bigger fan of Wilco’s earlier works, their new album blends the old and new quite nicely, though it seems to drag on a little towards the end, the last few tracks are reminiscent of what made Sky Blue Sky Wilco’s “boring album” according to most critics. Regardless, Wilco (The Album) is still incredibly satisfying. Clocking in at just under 43 minutes, these short and sweet little tunes prove that Wilco have found their sound and are sticking to it……well, at least for now.
