I just heard Julian Lynch for the first time bright and early this morning on my way in to work and I decided it was my duty as an endowed member of Newdust & Co. to share it with you guys. It was “Terra” that graced my cochleas this morning, with its free-jazz & Animal Collective tribal vibes; I was hooked instantly. I came across this video for “A Day At The Racetrack,” another great Lynch track, I thought you guys might enjoy it! Terra is his latest full-length, pick it up on sweet, sweet vinyl here!

The long-awaited follow-up to Panda Bear’s much-loved album Person Pitch is set to release through Noah Lennox’s own label Paw Tracks on April 12. So far the album sounds like what we’ve come to expect from Lennox’s unique brand of vocal work and music depth, but this time he claims he’s getting away from the more sample-heavy parameters of his previous work and focusing more on the guitar and synthesizer.
Sounds good to me. Check out the latest single from the album, “Last Night At The Jetty.”

We have all enjoyed the various projects from the Animal Collective bros over the last few years. I am especially excited about the potential for the new Avey Tare. Check out the single “Lucky 1″ off the upcoming record Down There. In usual Avey Tare fashion, there are big beats, tons of reverb, and hooks galore. Enjoy!

Mushpot Records just sent me a tasty little tune from Chicago’s Yawn, off their self-released Yawn EP. Great song, great EP. If you like Panda Bear, Animal Collective, & the like, you’ll really dig these guys!

This new EP, Fall Be Kind from Animal Collective is fantastic. I don’t know how to not love this band. My favorite part about Animal Collective is that they make you work for it. Most pop artists come out of the gates with their best hooks and their most catchy lines. That is fun but you lose interest quickly. Animal Collective buries the sugary pop goodness beneath reverb drenched samples and huge drum beats. With the track “What I would Want? Sky” there is about a 3 minute intro where you are hearing ambient noise and big drums… something is happening… tension is building… the song goes quiet… then you hear it…
“…Sky… what would I want… sky… what would I want…sky…
Is everything alright? You feeling moany? You feeling lonely?
You’re not the only, Is everything alright?
You feeling stormy? You feeling phony?
You’re not the only, do you get up,up,up,up…”
You immediately have a smile on your face as the guys in Animal Collective sing in rounds and harmonies reminiscent of the 60’s pop we wish we had all been a part of. I know I am a sucker for this, but this song really made my day, and I hope it makes yours too. Enjoy!

Phoenix is releasing a collection of “Wolfgang Amadeus” remixes by such artists as YACHT, Chairlift, Passion Pit, Friendly Fires and much, much, more. Here’s Animal Collective’s, or I should say Deakin’s, remix of “Love Like A Sunset”. The collection is set to release digitally on Glassnote Records October 13th.
