The brilliantly animated video pairs magically with the smooth, sexy beats of “Reach Lines,” the second single off his 2011 release, Equatorial Ultravox EP. Enjoy!
It’s been a busy year for Mike Diaz (MillionYoung to you and me). He released his debut LP, Replicants, went on a national tour, produced the soundtrack to the video game Galaxy Explorer, released a free remixes EP (which you can download here, and spent time in the studio recording a follow-up record, which is slated for an early 2012 release. Check all of those things out, and also check out this sexy video for “Easy Now.” It will make you happy if you like to watch pretty girls dance to chillwave tunes.
Back in February, Young Magic released its first single, You With Air/Sparkly via Carpark Records, and yesterday, the band released Night in the Ocean/Slip Time, a second 7″ that is just as expansive and breathtaking as the first. Each of these singles is an installment of a grandiose debut LP that is set to be released in 2012 and spans ten countries.
Here’s an awesome little 3 track (+ 2 remixes) EP from Oakland’s synthpop duo James & Evander, Constellating. An instant favorite for me, with killer vibes, great melodies, and a sweet instrumental track to boot. These guys are rockin’ it full swing now, churning out another EP later this year, as well as a follow-up full-length in the spring of ‘12. Bring it! Also be sure to check them out @ Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, CA on Nov. 11th and watch out for their West Coast tour this fall!
The more I listen to Hugo Manuel’s whimsical chillwave project Chad Valley, the harder I fall in love. The way he mixes and layers his music is pure brilliance, and when paired with the right imagery, quite magical (not to mention nice to makeout to). The UK electronic artist’s latest video for “Shell Suite,” features a charmingly quaint lace-clad lead lady that will melt your heart. Catch Chad Valley on tour with Active Child this fall.
