A subtle and beautiful performance (via Gothamist) from Small Black of their track “Camouflage” (one of my favorites.) The band is making a stop at DC9 on Thursday August 11 to help raise money for the Grassroots Reconciliation Group. The group supports projects that bring together local community members and ex-child soldiers of the LRA (Ugandan resistance) who have escaped from rebel captivity. According to the web; “Together, the two groups build relationships and work hand-in-hand on livelihood projects that they design themselves, including communal farming, brick-making, animal husbandry, and volunteering at counseling centers.” Good cause… good bands… more info and RSVP here.
