Best Friends – “So Far Away” + “Body Rock”

Best Friends hails from Chicago, and specializes in pop-dance gems. The production duo/band’s self-titled EP has been on repeat for days and some tracks have already made it on to my party/workout list. Check out the “video” for “So Far Away” above (my personal favorite off the EP), and the BANGER “Body Rock”. It is not hard to imagine Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, or even Katy Perry singing either of these songs. Grab Best Friends’ EP on iTunes (link here) and party down!

We’re No Heroes – New EP Quiet Colours

Were No Heroes New EP Quiet Colours

Great track from We’re No Heroes off their latest EP Quiet Colours. “Empty Beat” brings us these great “math-pop” instrumentals, in the same vein as Foals or Interpol, with an 80s post-punk vibe & a killer outro. Solid guitar work, precise drumming, & fantastic vocals dominate this 4-track EP. Definitely worth a listen.

Keep Shelly in Athens – Lazy Noon

Keep Shelly in Athens Lazy Noon

It’s been nearly a year since Keep Shelly in Athens released its debut album, In Love With Dusk, and the Grecian duo is back with a 12-inch EP, Our Own Dream via Forest Family. The extremely limited edition vinyl (only 500 will be pressed, 250 in white and 250 in silver) is slated for a November 8 release date and illustrates the twosome’s knack for writing sexy downbeat-electro-pop. Catch Keep Shelly in Athens during its first ever tour of the United States. Dates can be found here.

Chad Valley – Shell Suite (Video)

The more I listen to Hugo Manuel’s whimsical chillwave project Chad Valley, the harder I fall in love. The way he mixes and layers his music is pure brilliance, and when paired with the right imagery, quite magical (not to mention nice to makeout to). The UK electronic artist’s latest video for “Shell Suite,” features a charmingly quaint lace-clad lead lady that will melt your heart. Catch Chad Valley on tour with Active Child this fall.

Little Dragon – “Ritual Union” (Tensnake Remix)

Little Dragon Ritual Union (Tensnake Remix)

Yo! I wanted to bring some MUCH needed attention to a very cool EP from Little Dragon. The EP features the track “Ritual Union” plus three remixes. By far my favorite of the bunch is the Tensnake remix. This track pushes all my buttons. The slow build, the painful and emotional vocals and the huge drums. Perfect for getting deep on the dance floor. Finder’s credit goes to Chris Burns of DC DJ fame. Get the EP on iTunes here and enjoy!

Bikini – ACheerlaeder (video (NSFW))

Summer is just around the corner, and the boys of Bikini are jump-starting it in a boisterous manner with their self-directed video for “ACheerlaeder,” which depicts a night of drunken debauchery in the duo’s home city of Victoria and features boobies (hurray!). Bikini’s infectious electronic dance music is ideal for summer parties, and you better believe my copy of the twosome’s EP, RIPJDS, will be played incessantly in the months to come.
