I know… this song is old. It is a great demo version of The Strokes single “You Only Live Once” titled “I’ll Try Anything Once” from the Heart in a Cage 7 inch. This post is dedicated to Newdust’s very own Quentin. I said oops…

I really do not want to belabor what has already been said about Julian Casablancas’s new solo record Phrazes for the Young. I will attempt to let the music speak for itself. This track was leaked several days ago and has a slightly different sound from the album’s single 11th Dimension. “River of Brakelights” is a little darker and alot funkier. The album drops in the United States on November 3rd. Enjoy!

Check out the much anticipated new single from Julian Casablancas of The Strokes. The album titled, Phrazes for the Young, is set to be released on October 19th. Casablancas sounds full of energy and has definitely fashioned a fantastic sound. I am glad to see him tinker with his pop formula while not trying to reinvent the wheel. I hope this song brightens your day as much as it did mine. Enjoy…

Here is Julian Casablanca’s (The Strokes) first interview on camera in three years. The majority of the interview is centered around his upcoming solo record Phrazes For The Young. There are bits and pieces of the new record spliced in throughout the interview, and after watching this I can honestly say I haven’t been this anxious & excited for a record in a very long time!
Nikolai Frature did it with Nickel Eye. Albert Hammond Jr. has already released two solo records. Now it’s Julian’s turn (and it’s about bloody time). Over the last year, Julian Casablancas (The Strokes), aka my hero, has been working on his first solo album Phrazes For The Young, and all we know so far is that this 8 song LP includes songs titled “River of Brake Lights,” “Glass” and “Ludlow St.” Here’s a preview for the album that plays like a movie trailer. Excited? Hell yes I am. Check out Julian’s new website for any new info on the album.
