In case you missed it… here is the video for Pictureplane’s track “Post Physical”. I am currently listening to this record, “Thee Physical” on repeat. The sensual dance jams drop on July 19, so grab the record here. Happy Friday!
Another great video from Jennifer Juniper Stratford for John Maus’s track “Head For the Country”. If you are in DC check him out at Black Cat on July 5. Go America!
I have been meaning to post this video for John Maus’s track “Believer” for a while now. The video was directed by Jennifer Juniper Stratford (check out her cool photographs here) and filmed on rare vintage video equipment using experimental techniques. OK…? This video gets kind of weird/spacey (obviously its John Maus) but I would like to think this is just the lens by which Maus views the world. Enjoy!
Check out this next level track from one of my favorite up and comers Wise Blood. The samples are hot and the song has even more energy than his previous work.
“I want to be like those saints, like Charley Chase.
But I feel like those saints could never make it today.”
If you are in DC check em’ out opening up for Friendly Fires at the 930 Club this Thursday May 26. I am really excited for this show. Turn it up, ya’ll!

Although Amor Ad Nauseum has been around in one form or another since 2006, what once was Bud Wilson’s bedroom project got its bearings in 2008, when the Portland-via-Eugene, Oregon songwriter added two more musicians to his band. With accompaniment, Wilson’s brainchild manifested into multi-faceted instrumentation drenched in reverb, uniting folk guitar plucking and warbling vocals with synthetic bursts of sound. Aan’s latest 7″ (that was released yesterday!), Somewhere’s Sunshine, gives its listeners both sides of the trio’s sound, starting with the digressive, pop-turned-ambient A-side, “Haunted, Million Ways,” and ending with the funky, soulful title track as its B-side. You can purchase a physical or digital copy of the EP here.

Intense video for Thieves Like Us‘ simple, sexy title track off the Euro/American trio’s brand-spankin’-new EP, Your Love Runs Still, which was released yesterday on Captured Tracks. Enjoy!
18 Carat Affair, a.k.a. Denys Parker from Kansas City, makes “improvised/layered music collages using tape machines, synthesizers and influence”. I can’t fathom why this guy is not getting more internet press, because his tracks are brilliant. Think lo-fi meets rock meets post-punk meets pop meets awesome, and there you have it. 60/40, 18 Carat Affair’s sixth release, is what he calls a “tape saturated collection of lush low fidelity R&B”, featuring sixteen blissful and sun-kissed tracks. Short ones, but sometimes you’ve just got to like it this way, and who cares when there’s a ‘repeat’ button to hit? Get a taste of your 18 Carat Affair to the right, and indulge in more here. You won’t regret it.
