Long Walks On The Beach – “Literally Crazy For You”

Long Walks On The Beach Literally Crazy For You

Long Walks On The Beach (DC’s favorite metaphysical pop band) have dropped a new single. The track is upbeat and even raucous at times. I hope this is the direction LWOTB is going, cause I am all in. And… if you listen closely you can hear the forceful sound of a Chevy being shifted into fourth gear as you pop “Born to Run” into the tape deck. Enjoy!

PS: Stay tuned for LWOTB’s new Singles EP coming soon!

Long Walks on the Beach and Sweet Cheeks

Whoever said sexy is futile never met Long Walks On The Beach, nor the girls of the “Sweet Cheeks: Panties with a Purpose” project. This new underwear brand, started by Monica Byrne Wickey, Gabi Viteri and Olympic gold medal winning snowboarder Hannah Teter, is all about uniting style, fun and charity: every pair of panties sold allows to feed a child in extreme poverty for a month, via Children International. Our friends at Long Walks On The Beach happily donated their song “I Didn’t Want To Make Out” for the Sweet Cheeks promotional video campaign. See the result above and make sure to stop by Sweet Cheeks’ website before checking out everything LWOTB over here.

George Harrison and James Ray – Got My Mind Set On You

Ok so last week newdust and co got to party at Velvet Lounge in DC with Fergus & Geronimo.  Afterwards we were discussing Long Walks on the Beach’s cover of of the pop jam “Got My Mind Set On You”.  I had never really liked that song, but the F&G bros defended it.  I fought with myself over it for about a week.  Going back and forth.  Love and hate.  Eventually I gave in.  Especially after hearing James Ray’s original version of the song.  Enjoy!

So newdust and co. threw what ended up being a pretty killer party at PAPER SUN last Saturday. The bands all played great sets. From the bombastic guitar of Delicate Steve, to the smoke filled mystery of Midnight Kids, to Long Walks on the Beach burning the house down with his single “metaPhysical”. Thanks again to Jess Dye, Paper Sun, Lane Pearson and everyone else who made this event pretty much the best Saturday I have had in a long time. If you missed it don’t worry… we are already brainstorming the next one. Cheers!

PS: If anyone has more video or pictures of the event let me know and I will post it.
