Awesome new spacey video for one of my favorite Los Angeles groups White Arrows‘ latest single, “Get Gone.” The track’s off the psychotropical troupe’s latest EP, Fireworks of the Sea, which came out yesterday! The quintet is currently on tour and just announced a summer tour with Beat Connection. Check out the full list of dates here.
Check out Magic Wands “Space”, the first single from their debut full-length “Aloha Moon”. Video was directed by Dexy Valentine of Magic Wands and John Charter. The video is very purple, and is reminiscent of those blurry photos angsty teens used to post on their MySpace profiles. Enjoy the dark brooding LA vibes…
La Sera, the brainchild of Vivian Girls’ beautiful, talented Katy Goodman, celebrated the release of its sophomore album, Sees the Light, yesterday via Hardly Art and paired it with a double video for the studio tracks “Real Boy,” and “Drive On.” The former half of the video portrays a colorful Goodman as a circus performer in puppy love while the latter half, void of color, promotes a gritty, grindhouse noir theme. Brilliant!
Check the melodramatic video for We Are Augustines track “Book of James”. The band is playing a sold out show in DC tonight at 930 club. If you can scalp one be there… otherwise enjoy the video and check out more from the band here.
Check out this ethereal six-piece from Deland, Florida. Roadkill Ghost Choir at times, are reminiscent of Tame Impala, Radiohead, and Fleet Foxes. All good things. Stay tuned for more from this band as their debut album will be released sometime in May. I have watched the video above for “Drifter” at least a dozen times. I keep letting the haunting vocals and southern poetic charm wash over me.
“Come into pitch black space. Drifter to scared too roam. God damn you…”
And as a bonus, listen to the more down home and laid back track “In The Lion’s Mouth”. Enjoy!

I never really pegged Adult Swim as a conveyor of music videos, but it seems to be premiering gems more and more frequently. The latest is the quirky, creepy video for Tanlines‘ “All of Me.” Drenched in synth and drum machine beats, the track is a blissful summer jam, which director and comedic genius Julian Barratt juxtaposed with a room full of drab, catatonic middle-aged/elderly men and women. The result is a peculiar (and quite awkward) dance party that’s sure to either melt your heart or make your skin crawl. “All of Me,” is the second single off the Brooklyn-based duo’s debut LP, Mixed Emotions, which was released yesterday via True Panther Sounds. Tanlines embarks on a North American/European tour this April. Check out tour dates here.
