Yeasayer “ONE” By: Radical Friend from ODDBLOOD on Vimeo.
| Man I am on a roll with Vimeo lately. Enjoy this totally rad video from Yeasayer for their song “O.N.E.”. Neon colors, lasers, coordinated dance moves… love it.
PS: Shout out to MFR for putting this up. |

Here’s a quickie. Alan Wilkis sent me his latest remix of one of the more talked about bands of 2010, and one that we’ve mentioned quite a few times. This is his remix of Yeasayer’s “Ambling Alp”. Enjoy! |

A few weeks ago Jacob posted about the Dark is the Night compilation. I found this video on the youtubes and figured I would share. This is a live in studio performance from Brookyn’s Yeasayer performing “Tightrope” on Minnesota Public Radio’s 89.3 The Current. Enjoy! |

In thinking about the end of this year coming up in a month or so, I decided to go through my music collection. I came across the “Dark Was the Night” CD, which features a lot of artists teaming up. These include: Andrew Bird, Bon Iver, The Books featuring Jose Gonzalez, Cat Power and Dirty Delta Blues, The Decemberists, Dirty Projectors + David Byrne, Feist, Grizzly Bear, Iron & Wine, The National, The New Pornographers, Dave Sitek (TV On The Radio), Spoon, Sufjan Stevens, Yeasayer, and Yo La Tengo, to name a few. One of my favorite tracks from the CD is Yeasayer’s “Tightrope.” It fits in very nicely with the rest of the CD and powerfully exemplifies their strong musical talent. The Brooklyn-based experimental group focuses heavily on their rhythms in this song, which is complimented by breath taking vocals. The compilation was released by 4AD Recordings and is definitely one of the best works produced from 2009. |

Brooklyn’s Yeasayer just dropped their new single, “Ambling Alp” from their upcoming album Odd Blood to be released this February. I was a big fan of their 2007 full length All Hour’s Cymbals. This new track is cut from the same cloth as All Hour’s Cymbals but also explores some new sounds and a more hi-fi production style. I am very optimistic about their next record. Enjoy! |
