Forget about chillwave, lo-fi and electro beats, Australia is currently having a psychedelic rock moment with Tame Impala and their debut album Innerspeaker, released back in May. Consisting of three guys, Tame Impala is proving to be a real promising indie band with its catchy drums and melodies, Kevin Parker’s captivating voice and an ability to lift your spirit whilst you nod along. However, throughout Innerspeaker and especially with its first single “Solitude Is Bliss”, Tame Impala goes beyond the hype by treating us to songs of deeper meaning, in which the most playful melodies can reveal more personal and serious lyrics. |
