Beware! The Dirty Projectors new album Bitte Orca is a serious commitment.  This record takes the listener through every realm of music. Tribal, dance, acoustic, prog, guitar rock… it is all there. I feel like this is one of those records that truly speaks for itself. I put one of my favorite tracks up called “Temecula Sunrise”.  Dave Longstreth and company belt harmonies that give you chills, which to be honest, is the best part.  A great strength of this record is that as soon as you get comfortable and cozy with a melody or hook, the album turns on you.  The drummer never actually goes into a full blown beat and the time signature changes almost as often as the key or tempo changes.  This record makes you wait and even work for the harmonious pop gems tucked away in each song.  It has been a long time since I heard a band succesfully walk the line of avante garde experimental music and great pop.  Enjoy with headphones!
