Vampire Weekend – Horchata

Some of you may have heard that Vampire Weekend is set to release their second CD, “Contra,” on January 12, 2010. In preparation for this, the group has uploaded the track, “Horchata,” to their website for streaming and downloading. I find the track similar to musical styles found on the group’s self-titled CD. They are keeping within the catchy style of preppy, joyful, afro-pop inspired indie-rock that they created. However, this time, they have expanded their horizons out of the Northeast region of the United States. It will be interesting to see just how far Vampire Weekend will take us. |
